Celebrating the Life of Carol Jean Marosi Carol Jean Marosi, born on a magical Christmas Eve in 1932 to Salvadore and Martha Caputo in Chicago, Illinois, has left us with hearts full of joyous memories as she passed away at home on July 12, 2024. Carol was the sparkle in the eyes of many, a beacon of fun, and a master of celebration. Carol was the epitome of love and partnership. Married to the love of her life, Louis J. Marosi, for an astounding 73 years, their union was one of laughter, shared dreams, and spending their days together watching the Chicago Cubs and TV alongside the dogs Cubbie & Simba. Together, they created a beautiful family and a legacy of happiness. Carol was more than just a great friend; she was a trusted companion and a cheerful presence. She lived to play games, drink Cosmopolitan Martinis and Bloody Marys, scratch lottery tickets, gamble, eat chocolate donuts, and play bingo at St Juliana with her children, grandchildren, and friends. Her spirit was infectious, and she had a knack for turning any gathering into a lively party. Everyone will forever remember the countless games she roped them into, each one a testament to her playful spirit. Surviving Carol is her beloved husband, Louis, and their children, Mark J., Louis T. and his wife Kimberly, Thomas M. and his fiancé Cathy; Carolynn Pitzaferro and her husband, Michael III, and Pat Smith-Calascibetta and her husband, Sam. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Jason Marosi and his fiancé Sarah Vogel, Adam Marosi and his wife Alejandra, Christopher Marosi, Ryan Marosi and his fiancé Sarah Moore, Mitchell Marosi, Alexandra Pitzaferro and her husband Nicholas Gallardo, Mia Pitzaferro and her fiancé Sam Honan, Michael Pitzaferro IV, Sam Calascibetta Jr., and Thomas Calascibetta and his wife Molly. Carol was also a cherished great-grandmother to Noah and Alina Marosi, best friend to Irene Pitzaferro, a loving aunt to five, and many other friends and family members. Carol's infectious smile, personality, and presence will be missed. Carol is now reunited with those preceded in death, including her daughter Linda, her brother Paul and his wife Loretta, and her parents. However, Carol leaves behind a family strengthened by her love and joyous spirit. Carol was a shining example of how to live life to the fullest, with a heart full of love and a smile that could light up any room. We will miss her dearly but will forever carry her joyous spirit in our hearts. We know that we have the best guardian angel watching over us now. Here’s to a life well-lived and a woman well-loved. Cheers, Carol! Visitation will be Tuesday, July 16, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at River Woods Funeral Chapels; 205 S River Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60016. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 10:30 until time of mass at 11:30 a.m. at St Juliana Church. Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
