Arthur Leslie Crosswell was born on October 12, 1941 and entered into rest on June 8, 2020 in Chicago, Illinois. He was 78 years old. The son of the late Sigismond Crosswell and Catherine Henry, Arthur was born and raised in the town of Gayle, St. Mary on the beautiful island of Jamaica. He was one of 7 siblings, with 3 brothers Neville Crosswell, Aston Crosswell, Hugh Magnus and 3 sisters Gloria Crosswell, Inez Crosswell, and Iyvonne ‘Mina’ Crosswell. Arthur attended Gayle Grammar School, St. Mary High School, and was a member of St. John Anglican Church in Gayle, St. Mary. Arthur worked as a driver for Jamaica Omnibus Service and moved on to work for The Public Works Department until he retired in 1998. Arthur had 7 children with the late Cynthia Sang. After his retirement, he immigrated to the United States where he married Enid ‘Sylvia’ Townsend in Chicago, IL in 2002. Arthur and Sylvia enjoyed spending time with each other, dancing and going to functions held by the Evanston Cricket Club. He loved playing Dominos and was an avid cricket fan. Even though he was retired, he worked at Ada S. McKinley and HamHed LLC, where he was known as a very hard worker. He was a quiet man who was easy going, cheerful, helpful and beloved by all who knew him. Arthur is predeceased by his mother and father, his brother Neville Crosswell, and his sister Iyvonne ‘Mina’ Crosswell. He is mourned by his loving wife Enid ‘Sylvia’ Crosswell, his children Mark Anthony Crosswell, Lisa McDonald (Julian), Alicia Carlyle (Steve), Marcello Crosswell (Kerlyn), Lennox Shane Crosswell (Shoyan), Mario Crosswell (Olivia), and Marsha Crosswell; his step-daughters Karen Watkis, Paula Kirk, Georgia Martin, Maureen Stubbs, all his grand-children, nieces, nephews and loving friends.
