Modesto Lagunas was born on June 15, 1932. He passed away on November 6, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Petra Lagunas, loving father of Crescencio (Emma) Lagunas, Margarita Lagunas, and Teofila (Vicente) Lagunas-Diaz, cherished son of the late Jesus and Petra Lagunas, caring brother of one sister and five brothers, and kindest grandfather to 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. Modesto was known for his giving nature, endless stories, and witty humor. He came to the United States as an adult and knew the Chicago Transit Authority system like the palm of his hands. He enjoyed a game of cards and adored the pups that kept him company. He dedicated his life to taking care of and nurturing his loved ones. His calm, caring demeanor and loving nature will live on forever. Rest in Peace, sweet apá. We love you to infinity. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 12 from 3:00-8:00 pm River Woods Funeral Chapel (205 South River Road, Des Plaines, Illinois). A Life Celebration Mass will be held on Saturday, November 13 at 11am at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church (181 West Dundee Road, Wheeling, IL). After mass, we will proceed to All Saints Cemetery (700 North River Road, in Des Plaines, Illinois). Modesto Lagunas nació el 15 de junio del 1932. Falleció el 6 de noviembre del 2021. Modesto era conocido por su generosidad, historias interminables y humor ingenioso. Llegó a los Estados Unidos cuando era adulto y conocía el sistema de transporte de Chicago como la palma de su mano. Disfrutaba un juego de barajas y adoraba a los cachorros que le hacían compañía.
